Dorm living presents a special kind of problem: How do you fit your entire life into fewer than 100 square feet? Every September, a new group of Stanford students takes on that challenge, designing rooms that reflect a wide range of personalities and aesthetic sensibilities, all while finding space for their stuff.
We think dorm rooms—and the objects found inside them—offer an incredible window into the personalities, interests, and everyday lives of students on our campus. In “Treehouses,” a new series from the Arborist, we’ll visit students in their dorms and explore the design choices and personalities that fill these small spaces.
